Chasing a BBS

I’ve heard the warnings; “don’t chase a BBS”. Personally, from the instant I started wet shaving I’ve done nothing but chase. It’s actually the reason I started, because I noticed I couldn’t get the level of closeness I wanted with a cartridge. And since starting, my blades have gotten increasingly sharper and my razors increasingly more efficient. To the point where every time I shave I know I’m at risk of damaging myself. And yet I continue. For me, I simply love the feeling of stripped down smooth skin, particularly in the mustache area. It feels clean. Youthful. Unencumbered. I also love the relaxation that can come with an easier less efficient shave. But I always come back to chasing that BBS. Why do we chase?
